Overview
A Uganda safari offering both gorilla trekking and a chance to see the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) is a thrilling experience that combines some of Africa’s most sought-after wildlife encounters.
The adventure typically begins in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking, where you’ll track endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat—an unforgettable, intimate experience. From there, you can visit Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kibale National Park for incredible wildlife safaris, including opportunities to spot the Big 5 in places like Murchison Falls National Park.

DAY 1:Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Morning arrival at Entebbe airport and meeting with our guide. Soon after, you’ll hit the road. The first stop is at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where rhinos are reintroduced into the Ugandan wild. Here you will go on a walking safari with a ranger to see the rhinos up close.
After lunch, transfer to Murchison Falls, you will first see them from their upper side. The program will continue with a visit to the giraffe paradise in the Murchison Falls National Park (on its northern bank).

DAY 2: Safari ride and boat ride in Murchison Falls National Park
Morning cup of tea/coffee at 6:00 a.m. Cross the river by ferry, then a morning safari drive into the wide savannah with a high probability of seeing big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, many birds and other wildlife.
In the afternoon, a three-hour boat cruise below the breathtaking Murchison Falls, during which you can also see large numbers of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the river banks.

DAY 3: Drive into the Queen Elizabeth National Park area
After breakfast, drive south to the Queen Elizabeth National Park area. It’s a long drive, so expect a full day in the car. We will stop for lunch and stretch in places with nice scenery, such as the escarpment of the valley at Lake Albert, typical African villages in the nearby countryside, tea plantations along the way, etc.

DAY 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Canal Cruise
We will go on a safari ride to the Queen Elizabeth National Park early in the cold morning . A chance to observe members of the so-called big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard), as well as warthogs, hyenas and many other species that are residents of this park. Wetland and lake areas are home to abundant bird life, including flamingos, storks and more.
After lunch, two-hour boat cruises on the famous Kazinga Canal (36 km), which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. You will see a lot of hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles, but also warthogs, antelopes, elephants and various birds.

DAY 5: Drive to Bwindi National Park via Ishasha sector
In the morning we will go on a safari ride in the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, we transfer to the mountain gorilla area in Bwindi National Park.
If we arrive early, we can go for a walk with the locals or relax with the artists from the Orphans Group.

DAY 6: Trek for gorillas in Bwindi National Park
Early breakfast and after we transfer to the gate of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. After registration and training, you will set out on foot to meet the majestic gorillas .

DAY 7: Return to Kampala, departure from Entebbe
After breakfast we leave for the final journey to Entebbe.
Along the way we will stop for lunch at the equator.
If possible, also a stop and observation of a prehistoric-looking African wagtail bird.
Arrival in Entebbe to catch the evening flight. Alternatively, you can sleep and fly the following day.
