Overview

This is a full wildlife tour with activities like day and night game drive, boat cruise, horseback riding in the park, and community walk. The park is the smallest national park and is located approximately 200km away from Kampala city making it the closest wildlife park to Kampala and Entebbe. The park is rich with a number of wildlife species like zebras, elands, cape buffalos, impalas, warthogs, kobs, monkeys, giraffes, and many more, it is also regarded as the birding site with closely about 250 bird species of which some are endemic to the area. The name of the park was derived from the perception of the local people and their history about the formation of Lake Mburo.

Planning

Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park, located just 200km from Kampala, making it the closest wildlife destination to both Kampala and Entebbe. This full wildlife tour offers a variety of activities, including thrilling day and night game drives, boat cruises, horseback riding, and community walks. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, cape buffalos, impalas, kobs, warthogs, and monkeys. DAY 1 : TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO FOR EVENING GAME DRIVE

You will be picked by your safari guide who will give you a short briefing about this 3 days Lake Mburo safari. You will start your 4 hours drive to Lake Mburo National Park through small urban centers along Kampala-Mbarara road and upon arrival, you will have lunch, and get prepared for a brief evening game drive where you encounter the true zebra magnet alongside other animals like buffalos, giraffes, and elands. From there check-in at the lodge, for relaxation and dinner, and immediately after dinner. Overnight Rwakobo Rock

FULL DAY IN LAKE MBURO NP

Immediately after breakfast, your safari guide will lead you to the park for the morning game drive or for a community walk considering your choice. The Park has a history of Wildlife-humans conflicts to the extent that animals such as lions were hunted and killed to total extinction and because of the improved relationship of the government and the locals, animals and the surrounding people co-existing. And in this, a lot of animals have been relocated to the park including lions (though not common) and giraffes. The game drive in Lake Mburo will ensure you a view of herds of buffaloes, zebras, impalas, birds plus many more. From there transfer back to the lodge for lunch, some relaxation After lunch and relaxation, you will have a short drive to the lake to meet the captain lead you for about a two-hour boat cruise. On the Lake Mburo boat ride you will see hippos, crocodiles, water birds like the African fish eagle, and the rare African finfoot, various animal species such as buffaloes and antelopes gather along the shores to drink some water. NATURE WALK, HORSEBACK RIDING AND TRANSFER TO KAMPALA

After early morning breakfast, you will meet the ranger guide who will brief you about the dos and don’ts while horse riding, from there you will be instructed on how to ride the horse and kick start these fun time moments and after that Check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala with lunch along the way at the equator line.
